FAQ
What ages are best for the plushies?
Plushies are meant for kids of all ages, but please use your discretion as to what you know to be safest for your child or loved one. As most probably know, it is standard for infants under 12 months to not be left lone with soft stuffed animals, blankets, pillows etc. especially when sleeping/in a crib. Before handing a plushie to an infant or child, always inspect the toy.
Do you take custom orders?
Very rarely and on a case by case basis will I take on customs. If you have something exciting coming up in your life like a new baby, a child's birthday, shower/holiday/birthday presents, etc. Let me know as soon as possible, it helps me a lot to be able to plan ahead! I make plushies when I can and always try to plan a few months ahead of time. The best way to stay up to date on what I'm making is through my Instagram @Montana.knit.co. Please don't hesitate to reach out there or start a conversation here.
How will I know if your knits will fit me?
This depends on the product! I always make sure to include sizing information with each item. Generally, they are meant for the average sized woman's head or teen. The Bridger beanies are unisex and fit the average adult or teen head. Beanies and headbands are one size and can vary between 21"-23" inches. Some beanies are meant to be a "fitted" fit and some are more of a "slouchy" fit, those details will be listed along with the product.
How are your pieces made and stored?
Every beanie, hat, plushie etc. is handmade by me alone! I source my faux fur pom poms and tags from other small business makers. I safely store my yarn and finished products in storage bins.
How long will it take my order to ship after purchasing?
Most of what you see is ready to ship, so unless otherwise noted, I will do my best to get your order out in 2-4 business days. Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your tracking information. All domestic U.S. orders are shipped free via USPS first class or priority depending on size. International orders will have shipping calculated at checkout.
Where do you source your Merino fibers?
Why Merino Wool?
There are several benefits to wearing merino wool versus synthetic fibers.
- It's an environmentally friendly biodegradable and renewable fiber - one sheep can produce several pounds of wool per year!
- Sheep's wool has evolved over the years to keep them comfortable in different environments so it's very thermoregulating. It keeps you warm without over heating and sweat free with its ability to transfer sweat away from the skin.
- It's antimicrobial and anti odor properties mean that you can wear merino wool pieces for a longer time without having to worry about smell.
- Merino wool pieces wear beautifully year after year. They have "memory" which means your knits will form to you and keep their shape. With proper care, merino wool pieces can be worn from one generation to the next!
